MONTCLAIR

Life in MONTCLAIR...

Montclair Village is located directly east of Piedmont in the forested Oakland hills. Homes are nestled in the woods above the small village that hosts a post office, two fire houses, a Lucky’s grocery store, banks, cafes and boutiques. A well-known farmer’s market takes place every Sunday in the town. The western half of Montclair burned during the 1991 Oakland Hills Fire, so the neighborhood now has a wonderful mix of large, contemporary homes that reach far into the hills and offer dramatic views of the San Francisco Bay, and 1930s, 1940s and mid-century homes in other, more forested parts of the hills. Montclair’s public schools are consistently rated as some of the best in Oakland.
